Our 75th Anniversary Ball took place on July 12th. It was so good to see so many representatives of the various groups that make up this great school: future parents starting this September, current parents, past parents, members of staff, former Headmaster and former members of staff, representatives of the Society of Jesus, old boys and friends of the school, come together to celebrate our first 75 years. Donhead has been through much change in its 75 year history. In its 75th year there is no doubt that the buildings have developed since 1933, the age range has certainly changed and, I have no doubt, the approaches to such things as teaching and discipline are now unrecognizable from days gone by. However, the ethos of Donhead remains the same. We remain committed to helping young boys to grow into men of conscience and compassion, educating young boys to become men for others, people who make a difference and to do this for the greater glory of God and the common good. We celebrated this commitment together and pledged ourselves to continue with this work in the future. During the evening, of course, we thank the many people responsible for organizing and supporting the ball, especially Mrs Anne Tudor-Taylor. We hope everyone had a wonderful evening.
