Recently the boys were treated to a brass quintet demonstration.  'Triumph Brass' is led by former Donhead pupil, Christian Barraclough who is a trumpet scholar at the Royal College of Music and who often plays at our Christmas Carol Services. He joined forces with highly talented fellow students who performed the french horn, trombone and tuba.
The boys learned how each instrument's sound was produced and listened to various captivating performances. The whole of the Donhead audience was spellbound. As a result of the group's visit we may have some future brass players in our midst... forty boys are wanting to sign up for brass lessons! I suspect that Mr. Beer, our brass teacher may be rather busy!
