The boys were treated to an informative session about the Victorians. The boys learnt about the Suffragettes, the differences between the Victorian rich and poor as well as the different clothes they wore.
The boys could dress up as Squires, farmers, lower class women, wealthy young women and old maids. 10 lucky boys dressed up as Russian soldiers and as British Red Coats. The boys also learnt some military songs and understood how easy it was for young men to be encouraged to ‘join-up’.
Helen and Rick also demonstrated how to play the Clarinet, Harmonica and the Harmonium. The boys thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon and learnt a lot about the Victorian era.
