Regular assessments are carried out to help inform the teacher of progress, and monitor strengths and weaknesses. Teachers liaise with parents if areas of concern are identified, and extra support from the Learning Support team will be introduced if appropriate.

Donhead is a registered Early Years provider with Merton Local Authority. As such we record observations and summarise children’s achievements towards the Early Learning Goals at the end of the Foundation Stage. This is recorded as your son’s Foundation Stage Profile (FSP). The FSP covers each of the six areas of learning. The FSP enables teachers to identify which specific Early Learning Goals have been achieved and those that children will need further support to reach. This allows for individual planning as the children progress into Year 1. By following the assessment regime within the Foundation Stage Profile teachers are able to carry out regular assessments of individual strengths and weaknesses and address them, as well as providing a full summative assessment at the end.
