School Day
The school day for the Reception Class is as follows. 
Curriculum At Donhead we follow the guidelines set out by the government, and teach according to the six areas of learning.
Uniform The Reception Class uniform consists of the following.
Nursery Education Grant Donhead is eligible to claim funding for the provision of free nursery education places.
Homework Homework is given on a regular basis and includes activities to enable the children to identify and read all 45 high frequency words; to identify letter names and sounds and to develop their mathematical skills.
Assessment Regular assessments are carried out to help inform the teacher of progress, and monitor strengths and weaknesses.
Reporting to Parents We have a range of strategies that keep parents fully informed of their child’s progress in school.
Outings and Trips Educational outings are seen as an important part of school life and are actively encouraged.
Transfer Into Year 1 Transfer from Reception into Key Stage 1 is automatic except in very exceptional circumstances.
