Latest Developments at Donhead completed September 2010
St John Berchmans Building 2010
The construction of the St. John Berchmans Building began in April 2010 with a scheduled completion in August 2010. The St. John Berchmans Building provides additional classrooms for one Reception class and both Year 2 classes, as we moved to 2-form entry throughout the school from September 2010. The classrooms were built at a cost of £700,000.
New Dining Room & Kitchen 2010
Through the summer holidays both the kitchen and the dining room were extended and completely refurbished giving a more spacious dining room, the quality of which will be the equal of any school. This new facility was developed at a cost of £300,000.
New Music Practice Rooms and Resources Centre
Starting in May 2010, through to August 2010 the basement area at the school was completely refurbished and, as a result, provides 2 new music practice rooms and a resources centre. This refurbishment took place at a cost of £150,000.
St Ignatius Building 2006
Donhead completed a two-phased development programme in 2006 at a total cost of £1.5m. Phase 1 has given us a new entrance and reception area, together with boys’ toilets and changing room.
Phase 2 was the new St Ignatius Building which gives us a new sports hall, ICT Suite, Music Centre and Art Room.
Jesuit education believes in the total formation of each pupil be it in his physical, creative, academic, emotional or spiritual development. We are very confident that our new building development will aid us.
