Cricket at Donhead

Cricket is the major sport in the summer term. Competitive matches are held from Year 2 onwards, and all boys are in a cricket team. Net sessions are held at lunchtime and after-school and pre-season nets are offered in March to boys in Years 5 and Year 6. Key skills are taught from an early age. Kwik cricket is played in Year 2 and pairs cricket in Year 3. House matches are also held. In addition to regular school matches, a number of 6-a-side competitions are entered by the senior sides.

The school has a bowling machine and takes advantage of the excellent facilities at Wimbledon College for pre-season nets. Our sports ground boasts excellent facilities for cricket, with three cricket squares.
