Karen Keeton joined the governing body in January 2024. She is the Headteacher at Barlborough Hall School, a co-educational independent Jesuit day school. Karen began working at Barlborough as a class teacher in 2001 and became headteacher in 2017. Karen has led her school through many changes and inspections and has a wealth of experience in the field of Education. Her joy for working with young children shines through in everything she does, and she is proud to be a part of the life journey of our young children.

Karen is married with one daughter who is now in the secondary stage of her Jesuit schooling.

Clerk to Governing Body

Mike provides administrative and organisational support to the governing body and its sub-committees. An electrical and electronic engineering graduate, he worked as a project and programme manager on Britain’s national railway safety improvement programmes until he retired in 2019. Today his main focus is on home life and caring for his two sons, both Donhead boys. His other interests include over 30 years in international property development and management, and spending time in the mountains.

Gareth Moore

Parent Governor

Dr Moore was elected as a parent governor in 2021, and is proud to help represent the interests of parents to the governing body. He is a bestselling author who has written hundreds of books to help both children and adults develop their maths, reasoning and creative skills in fun ways via puzzles and activities, with his ‘Clever Kids’ series alone selling over a million copies. He has a strong technology background, with three degrees that include a Ph.D in artificial intelligence from Cambridge University.

Philip joined the Governing Body in 2022 as a Parent Governor, with two boys at Donhead. A Chartered Accountant in the Big Four, Philip has spent many years as an auditor and is currently in the General Counsel team, managing responses to regulatory and legal enquiries. Philip is passionate about developing people, has held a number of significant people management roles and became an accredited Executive Coach in 2020. He brings all this experience to the Finance and General Purposes Committee and is grateful to support and develop the Donhead community in this way.

Jan Quant has been a Governor at Donhead since 2013. He first joined the Donhead community as a parent back in 2006. Professionally, he is a co-founder of an enterprise software business after an early career in the music industry. He is married with two sons (both Donhead Alumni) & two daughters and enjoys tennis, travel and walking the dog.

Michael Barnes SJ was Head Boy at Donhead in the year of the school’s silver jubilee. Many years later, after teaching theology at Heythrop College in the University of London and working in interreligious relations in various settings, he has found a new and exciting niche as a very part-time addition to Donhead’s excellent chaplaincy team.

Tony is himself the product of a Jesuit education, having attended both St. Johns Beaumont in Old Windsor and Stonyhurst College in Lancashire. After school, Tony gained a B.Sc. in Cognitive Science from Exeter University and a Masters in Finance from London Business School. He has spent the last 28 or so years working in finance in London and is married with three children and lives in Wimbledon. As well as being a governor of Donhead he is the treasurer of The Stonyhurst Pilgrimage Trust, a charity he cares deeply about having spent many years as a young helper in Lourdes.

Sophie joined Donhead as Foundation Governor in 2020 and is the SEND and Modern Foreign Languages Link Governor. She holds a BSc in Economics and Statistics and MSc in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics. She has worked for leading global financial companies since 1996. She is married with one son and her hobbies include reading, dance fitness and listening to music.

David has been an RS Teacher at Wimbledon College for 30 years and is currently Head of Figures (Year 7). He has been in Jesuit Education since he started at Stonyhurst as a 13 year old in 1982! He is married with 2 sons who both attended Donhead. He enjoys reading, cycling and is the President of Old Wimbledonians RFC.

Catherine is thrilled to return to the Donhead community as Headteacher. She has worked at a number of schools across London in various leadership and management roles. Catherine holds an MA and PGCE from Oxford University, as well as a Diploma in Education and a National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership from the Institute of Education. Catherine sits on the Surbiton High Local Governing Body as an EYFS Governor and has recently qualified as a Practitioner Coach with Leadership Edge.

Mrs Franklin is from Argentina and was educated in Buenos Aires, before moving to London for a career in investment banking. She has two children, one of whom is a former Donhead pupil. Her fond memories of the Donhead community made it the ideal place when she returned to the workforce in her role as PA to the Headteacher. She is fluent in Spanish, Italian and English.

Prior to coming to London, Amelia enjoyed 5 years of formative Jesuit education in Spain. She then completed her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Business, Finance, Management & Statistics. More recently, she spent 3 years furthering her professional Accountancy qualifications.

In terms of professional work experience, Amelia spent 10 years working internationally for leading investment banks and consultancy firms. After the birth of her 3rd son, high quality family time was important, and that combined with a passion for the education industry, made her join Donhead. A Donhead parent since 2008, and a member of staff since 2010 Amelia has dedicated herself to the school, firstly as a T.A and since 2017 in the Finance Office. She has been the school's Bursar since January 2019. She combines her high-level expertise in Finance with her interest in the Education industry and puts it all at the service of the wider community in a true Donhead way.

In her spare time Amelia has a revived passion for the importance of being physically fit and can be seen running every morning alongside the deer in Richmond Park.

Mr Anglim was born and raised in the heart of London, joining Donhead after working in secondary education at The London Oratory School for five years. Mr Anglim has a vast experience of rugby playing and coaching, having contributed in both capacities at County, Divisional and International level in the UK and abroad.

Mr Anglim holds a Bachelors of Science degree and more recently completed research in education and was awarded a Masters Degree in Education, Pedagogy of Education, Physical Education and Sport from St Mary's College, Twickenham. He is a member of the Chartered College of Teaching. Mr Anglim is Head of Pre Prep Physical Education and hopes that whilst these years are thoroughly enjoyable, they also nurture an enthusiasm, joy and love of all play, physical activity and sport.

Melanie has been teaching Music for just over twenty years and working with students both in the secondary and primary sector including five years at Wimbledon College. She is a classically trained singer and given many solo recitals over the years, continuing to enjoy singing in pro-amateur choirs in and around London. She has had the pleasure of singing on choir tours both in the UK and abroad. Melanie is passionate about training and developing children's voices of all abilities. When not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering at her children's local scout group.

Mr Luke Smith obtained his Bachelor of Education degree at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in Port Elizabeth, South Africa . He has four years of teaching experience at a primary school in East London, but the South African East London. He has recently moved to the UK and is very excited about his new chapter, here at Donhead Preparatory school.

He is a keen sportsman and enjoys playing cricket, rugby, golf, and hockey, but loves watching all sports and the outdoors. He is looking forward to traveling and getting to sightseeing in the United Kingdom.

Miss Canavan joins us from Ireland where she studied a Bachelor of Education with a specialism in Psychology, Sociology and Philosophy at Dublin City University. She has spent the last 5 years teaching across primary school year groups, both in mainstream and in SEND roles. Miss Canavan has taught children in Ireland, New Zealand and most recently the UK. She strives for the inclusion and appreciation of every type of learner in her class. In her spare time Miss Canavan enjoys sport, music and travelling to new places.

Mr Markwell joins Donhead after completing his PGCE at UCL, having worked with Year 4 to 6. Before qualifying as a teacher, George spent four years working in a multitude of roles across education. Being a Wimbledon local and former Wimbledon College student, he is extremely passionate about joining the Donhead staff.

In his spare time Mr Markwell loves staying active, playing a range of sports including rugby, football, boxing and golf. Having completed his degree in Film and Television, he has a keen interest in film and photography.

Ms Bridget Neal studied a bachelor of education and specialised in Special Needs: Learning difficulties. She has 18 years teaching experience. She has taught in the UK previously for 8 years, as well as teaching in Cape Town, South Africa, Bangkok, Thailand and Milan, Italy. Bridget is also the Head of Science.

In her spare time Ms Neal enjoys travelling and spending time with her daughter Charlotte.

Miss Macleod has several years’ experience teaching a variety of subjects but has spent the last 10 years teaching art.

Originally from Canada, she has a B.A. in Fine Art and French and is trained to teach KS2, French and Art. She is currently teaching years 3 to 6 and enjoys showcasing student work in the art gallery, as well as at the end of year art exhibition. Miss Macleod enjoys reading, playing softball, gardening and DIY in her spare time.

She has been teaching locally for almost eighteen years and joined Donhead in 2007. Miss Jackson very much enjoys teaching and inspiring children through Art. She lives in Wimbledon and hobbies include swimming, painting and soap-making!

Mrs Brady came into teaching via a circuitous route that included teaching Phys. Ed. at the Anglo-American School in Moscow, working in the independent film sector, and restaurant management, before settling down to have her family, and finally landing on Donhead’s doorstep over twenty years ago.

Mrs Brady is married, with a husband and three children who work in theatre, television, film and fashion - so there is never a dull moment in her household, but you may have to clamber over a mountain of props to get indoors.

Nathalie was a Form Teacher across all years of the Primary Curriculum for 12 years in France before permanently relocating to London with her family in 2014. Both her boys went to Donhead and greatly enjoyed it; the international atmosphere helped them to feel welcome. Since 2014, Nathalie has been a TA here at Donhead in different year groups, working alongside Miss Jackson as a Form Teacher in Year 2 on Tuesdays for the past 3 years. It is now with great pleasure and excitement that she will join the PP2 Team as a full time Form Teacher in September!

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, traveling and doing long chatty walks with friends and/or family, even multiple days hikes whenever possible!

Mr Amos completed his teacher training in 2008. Following this, he worked in three different London primary schools before joining Donhead in 2016. Mr Amos has worked extensively with Year 6, gaining a wealth of SATs and 11+ experience. In addition to teaching Year 6 at Donhead, he leads English whilst also being responsible for supporting boys in Prep and Elements years with the 11+ exam process. He is married with three young children and enjoys cycling, reading, and cooking.

Mrs Beecher has had 22 years experience in teaching across all years of the Primary Curriculum. She has worked within both the Catholic state system as well as the Independent sector at both teaching and management levels. She received her degree in Law and French, as well as her PGCE, from the University of Surrey, and a diploma in International Business from L’Academie de Commerce, Paris. Mrs Beecher lives with her husband; two children and a Cockapoo, Bailey! Her hobbies include Interior Design, all things tennis related and walking her pooch!

Mrs Bendall came late to teaching having previously worked for the academic publisher Routledge as an Editor. She lives locally and is married with a son and two daughters, one of whom has just started as a Year 1 teacher in a Wimbledon primary school! Mrs Bendall’s first love is reading and she always has a novel on the go. Her other interests include singing (badly!) in a local choir and walking her elderly spaniel on Wimbledon Common.

Mrs Mellows joined Donhead in 2019 as the PP2M form teacher. She holds an Honours Degree in Inclusive Education from the University of South Africa and has gained 10 years teaching experience, primarily teaching ages 6 – 10 years.

Mrs Mellows strives to make learning meaningful to all children through practical and creative lessons. She is passionate about building teacher-learner relationships and making learning fun, ensuring that every child enjoys being at school. Her number one goal is to make all her learners believe in their abilities and feel confident with their own skill set.

Mrs Mellows lives locally and in her spare time she likes to go for runs in the park and spend time with her husband.

Jenny Nealon

Mrs Nealon is Head of Mathematics, Head of Xavier House and a contributing member of the chaplaincy and student wellbeing team.

After graduating university and having worked years in business she found herself in multiple foreign countries, with children who needed help clarifying information from multiple curriculums. Mrs Nealon set up a Pre-school/Reception class at an existing primary school in South Africa which set her on the education path. She then gleaned information from OT's, psychomotor therapists, SEN teachers and professionals across several continents. Once in England, Mrs Nealon earned a degree in Specific Learning Difficulties and a then added a teaching degree. Having been a past Donhead parent, Mrs Nealon is passionate about helping boys love learning. From building confidence to igniting enthusiasm for stretching oneself, Mrs Nealon loves teaching her pupils and works tirelessly to help address each boys’ individual needs via their strengths. Mrs Nealon was a catechist for 11 years at Christ Prince of Peace and Sacred Heart Churches, taught Duke of Edinburgh cooking classes and is a qualified member of the British Psychological Society (Qualified Test User), PATOSS (Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties). When she is not traveling the world with her family, Mrs Nealon enjoys entertaining, quilting, painting and reading.

Having previously worked at Donhead as a Gap year student in 2011-12, Mr. Tabb returned to the school in his first teaching role after finishing his PGCE at Roehampton University in 2017. Previously, Mr. Tabb attended Wimbledon College, and then went on to the University of Leeds to study Sport & Exercise Science. He was appointed a new role at Donhead as Head of PE this year and looks to continue building a fun and progressive curriculum for all students at our school.

Miss Negkaki joined Donhead in 2013, after having worked as a MFL teacher and Head of MFL in primary and secondary education in England, Wales and Greece since 2007. She has also taught at the Department of Lifelong Learning of Aberystwyth University. Miss Negkaki has a Bachelor’s degree in French language and literature with teaching qualification (QTS) and holds a Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies (CCRS). She is fluent in French, English, Greek and Spanish and knows Ancient Greek, Latin and Mandarin. Apart from being a teacher, Miss Negkaki has worked as an interpreter at Athens 2004 Olympic Games and a translator and an interpreter in various sports and cultural events. Since 2005, she has been a Certified Moderator for the DELF and DALF exams of the French Ministry of Education. Miss Negkaki is a member of the Independent Schools Modern Languages Association (ISMLA), The Chartered College of Teaching (CCT), The Association of Teachers of Catholic Religious Education (ACTRE), a Youth Mental Health First Aid Champion (MHFA), Mme Negkaki is a Quizizz Certified Game Changer and she holds an ASA Certificate for Teaching School Swimming. When not learning something new, she likes to travel the world, spend time with her family and care for her adorable cat and dog.

Ms Plech-Blair joined Donhead in 2016. She comes from Poland where she gained her Bachelors Degree in English Philology and a teaching qualification. She has been teaching since 1996. After coming to England she worked at an independent nursery for three years. Since 2005 she has worked in two state secondary comprehensive schools in a variety of different roles, teaching and co-ordinating support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), and providing pastoral care. As working with students with SEN has always been of great interest to her, she also completed her Master of Education Special Educational Needs at the University of Birmingham in 2011, and gained the National Award for SEN Co-ordination at Institute of Education, University College London in 2014. She also holds the Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing; The British Psychological Society Test User; RQTU Membership No: 407494.

Olivia Rodrigues

Mrs Rodrigues joined Donhead having previously worked at a range of day and boarding schools, both secondary and primary. Mrs Rodrigues is passionate about developing an innovative, creative and fun Computing curriculum. She holds The British Computer Society Certificate in Computer Science Teaching, is a Microsoft Certified Educator Expert, a Minecraft Certified Educator, a Google Certified Educator and is a member of both The British Computer Society and The Chartered College of Teaching. Mrs Rodrigues was appointed as a teacher ambassador for The iDEA (Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award) Award, one of only ten people in the world. She is also a Technical Reviewer for No Starch Press in California and a member of the Teacher Panel for Purple Mash. Mrs Rodrigues enjoys being part of The Oxford University Press Educational Research Forum and The CAS (Computing at School) Physical Computing Working Group.

She is also a parent representative on The British Association for Neonatal Neurodevelopmental Follow- Up (BANNFU), a special interest group of The British Association of Perinatal Medicine (BAPM). Mrs Rodrigues is currently pursuing a Masters in Education with a specialism in 'Advanced Practices for Teaching the STEM Fields at the Elementary and Middle School Levels'.



Hayley Winship

Mrs. Winship joined the Donhead team in 2009 as aa student teacher and was fortunate enough to secure her fist teaching post at the school the following year. She has fulfilled several roles at the school including working as a Form Teacher in both the Pre-Prep and Prep school. She now enjoys working as an English teacher and SEND teacher. An ideal job for someone with a passion for literacy and supporting learners with diverse needs!

Mrs. Winship completed a degree in Psychology at Southampton University and later went on to complete a PGCE in Primary teaching with a Literacy specialism. She has since completed an ELKLAN award in Speech and Language Support, Mental Health Champions Foundation Level training, and this year, embarks on training with the British Dyslexia Association to become a Specialist Teacher for Learners with Literacy Difficulties and/or Dyslexia.

She came to London over thirty years ago and has worked in many nursery and school settings in the local area.In her spare time, Rhian likes being part of a Book Club, enjoys walking and visiting family in Wales. Both her sons attended Donhead and Rhian feels part of the Donhead family.

Mrs Chamberlain's career at Donhead has spanned 14 years, beginning in the first ever Reception class. She is a Lead TA in the Prep School and can also be found covering lessons throughout the school.

Having received her degree in Food Science and Chemistry from the University of Reading she spent 8 years developing new products in the food industry before being kept busy by three sporty boys, two of whom came to Donhead.

She loves putting her RHS Diploma in Horticulture into practice during the weekly Gardening Club sessions. Mrs C is passionate about the big outdoors and spends many hours growing fruit and veg on her allotment, walking, skiing and watching the odd game of rugby and cricket.

Most of all she loves sharing special time with family and friends.

Mrs Epstein joined Donhead 9 years ago, from a local school. She is a teaching assistant in Year 6. She is married with 2 children and enjoys reading, cycling and spending time with her family.

Manisha although originally from Mumbai, has had a very international career. She lived and worked in Singapore and Tokyo before finally settling in London in 2007.

Nicki Mahoney has been working as a Teaching Assistant for five years both at Donhead and Ursuline Prep. She has a CACHE Level 3 Diploma in "Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools" and a degree in German and Business Studies. In her previous career, before having children, she worked in HR in the City of London and taught English whilst living with her family in Paris.

Nicki is married with two teenage Donhead boys who are at Wimbledon College. She enjoys walking her daughter's dog on Wimbledon Common and is a member of two book clubs and a movie club. Nicki loves eating out and trying out different foods so was very happy to be working at school on International Day!

During his time at Donhead I was Chair of the FOD and a parent-Governor. My interests include art appreciation and theatre. I enjoy family activities, attempting to keep fit and singing in a choir.

Jodie joined Donhead in 2023.

In a previous life Jodie was a Director in a consumer PR agency. She thrives on meeting new people and her years of marketing experience mean Jodie is adept at communicating with both clarity and passion.


When Jodie’s three children moved into senior school, having previously been very involved at their mixed coeducational prep school she missed day-to-day school life, The role of Registar allows her to be part of the fabric of the organisation she is marketing, something she loves. This combined with a wealth of experience of being on the parent side of the admissions fence means she strives to respond to both our existing and prospective Donhead families with empathy and enthusiasm.


In her spare time Jodie enjoys running, doing up houses and travel.

Miss Tavares joined the Donhead front desk in 2015, can speak three languages and is a paediatric and mental health first aider. In her spare time Miss Tavares enjoys baking, reading and spending time with her family.

Lorraine was a teaching assistant for 10 years in the Pre-Prep department before moving to the office in September 2020, she is married with two daughters and in her spare time she enjoys swimming, reading and spending time with her family.

Mrs Carroll began her professional career as a solicitor setting up charities and foreign oil companies in Mexico where she originates from. However, her faith and love for God and the desire to help others to understand the Christian faith lead her to a career change and to completing her Theology degree at St Mary’s Twickenham. She has 19 years of combined experience (abroad and here at home) in working with young people from primary to college age, both in a Church and school setting. She enjoys creating opportunities for children to learn about faith, prayer and growing closer to God. She has led many diocesan youth events and national and international retreats and pilgrimages. Mrs Carroll is passionate about Social Justice and evangelisation and anything to do with Catholic Social Teaching Mrs Carroll is married and has 2 little children. In her spare time, she loves socialising with her family and friends.
