At Donhead Prep children learn French.
French language can offer numerous future opportunities as among others:
It is the only language with presence in all 5 continents.
It is also the working language of UN and EU.
Two of the world's leading cities in aerospace technology are French-speaking.
Children are taught once a week. We use the ISEB and CEFRL schemes of work to build on communication and grammar skills. There is also a weekly Quizizz competition with awards to top 3 scorers for every Year Group. We are after all a Quizizz Certified Game Changer School.
Donhead has also achieved the International School award from the British Council for introduction internationalism through language learning and numerous multicultural activities.
We also benefit from immersive theatre performances, our annual French Day and the Elements (Year 6) 'swan song'; our residential trip to France.
After leaving Donhead many of our students achieve high results in their senior schools and are ranked at the top sets for French.
