English as an additional language (EAL)

The term EAL 'English as an Additional Language' is used when referring to pupils whose main language at home is a language other than English. Our EAL policy sets out the Schools’ aims, objectives and strategies with regard to meeting the needs and celebrating the skills of EAL pupils and helping them to achieve and maximise potential.

We have a weekly drop in Culture Club for Prep School pupils at lunchtime. The idea behind this is a chance for pupils to spend time with others from a similar culture with shared language. It is a time to relax, read, chat, play Lego, and other games. It takes place in the Library at 12:30pm on Thursdays and will be run by Mrs Delgado, Miss Irina and Mrs Kang.

Please see School Policies page for our English as an Additional Language Policy.
