CURIOSITY • CREATIVITY • COMPASSION

In Pre-Prep, students build the foundations for strong historical and geographical enquiry skills via their study of ‘Topic’. Each term explores a different focus and the curriculum is designed to develop students’ understanding of history and place, in order to contextualise their learning and establish an awareness of chronology. Our students take part in excursions throughout the year to help bring ancient civilisations to life and project-based lessons help pupils to create links with their learning.

Both physical and human geography are explored through topic based work. Great emphasis is placed on direct experience and practical activities using the school grounds and local area. Skills such as map reading and atlas work, scale and direction are taught and ICT is integrated into all aspects wherever possible.
